Cyber Essentials is an effective, UK Government backed minimum standard scheme that will help you to protect your organisation. It is owned by the National Cyber Security Center (NCSC). Certification will give you peace of mind that your defences will protect against the vast majority of common cyber attacks.
Organisations assess themselves against five basic security controls and a qualified assessor verifies the information provided. Cyber Essentials certification includes automatic cyber liability insurance for any UK organisation who certifies their whole organisation and has less than £20m annual turnover (terms apply).
The Cyber Essentials self-assessments are available through a secure hosted platform. You will receive a separate email with the login details within 48 hours from the moment you purchase this product. You will have 6 months to complete your assessment before your account is deleted and unfortunately, we cannot issue a refund if this happens.
If you have prepared your answers in advance, filling out the self-assessment might only take about an hour. Once the questions have been submitted, most Assessors will aim to get the results back to you within 3 days. If you have not been successful, you will then have 2 working days to address the issues, update your answers and resubmit. The Assessor will then aim to take no more than 3 days to remark the assessment. Those constitute the 2 attempts.

This is ideal to clear out any pending questions or to gain clarification before submitting your application. - Advance support – offers you the Basic support plus 1 licence to access our self-advisory videos;
This is ideal for organisations who passed the Cyber Essentials the previous year and want to learn about the latest changes. Additional licences can be purchased for additional employees. For example you may want to purchase a licence for your information security manager, and their deputy, or for all your security team. - Premier support – offers you the Advanced support plus one offline pre-assessment.
This usually helps clear up any major issues, especially for organisations who never applied before for the Cyber Essentials. - Ultimum support – Enjoy the ride with unlimited support until you get certified.
You will need to renew your certificate annually as it expires after twelve months.
